The Company
Prysg was established in 1989 and grew rapidly, winning contracts from prestigious clients such as the Wales Tourist Board, the Welsh Language Board, WJEC and the Welsh Office.
Prysg has a first-class reputation built on professionalism and quality which is reflected in our extensive and impressive client list. Over the years we have been entrusted with the translation of highly sensitive public documents including:
- the Bichard Inquiry into the Soham Murders
- Lost In Care, the report on the abuse of children in care in the former county council areas of Gwynedd and Clwyd
- the Clywch report following a major investigation into child abuse at a South Wales school.
In 2009 we provided written translation and interpretation services for the All Wales Convention Executive Committee, the group responsible for steering the public consultation on the Assembly's law-making powers.
Prysg prides itself on the fact that we employ a dedicated team of translators in-house, the majority of whom started their careers with us, and have progressed within the company. This allows us to set timescales and distribute work immediately as we don't have to rely on freelance translators to undertake work on our behalf. It is also key to our quality assurance processes.
Prysg has undertaken high profile projects such as:
- translating material for the 2001 and 2011 Census including recruitment packs, web content and educational worksheets
- translating and proofreading the BBC's Annual Report and Accounts to a tight schedule for the past 10 years
- translating and updating the UK Government's extensive DirectGov website.
